  • Music is a young person’s game

Something about bands that are coming up and the struggle to make it. Once you make it and get older, you don’t really have the struggles that relate to the younger audience. I feel like this is pj now compared to then.

The last three tracks could have been left off and the record would have been nearly flawless. Something Special is cute but pulls you out of the atmosphere they created otherwise, and the last two tracks are straight up filler, just sounding like old dudes in a band (a really tight band, but, um, nothing special.) I love that Mike McCready showed up to the studio remembering that he was a guitar god, and that once again we need subtitles for Eddie’s lyrics, that usually means he’s saying something important. I do miss the more raw drum sounds from back in the Dave Abbruzzese days, Matt is a beast but the drums are over-produced. All in all though, it’s the first album of theirs that hasn’t bored me to tears since No Code.

Band rocks, guitars are screechingly loud, but sadly no memorable songs or melodies. Not very good

Bought the vinyl and it’s spectacular. Can’t wait to see them soon in Baltimore.

I do not recognize this band anymore. Where are the anthems for our youth? What happened to music that meant something? Pearl Jam at the Spectrum, or Soundgarden at the Paramount ... Where is the "Even Flow," where is the, is the "Nutshell"... Where is the "Black" of today? Look at this, most of these bands are like well-designed bottles of bleach. It's beer and lifestyle music! I mean it's like the next world war will be sponsored by I don't know what!
