This is an amazing R&B album! Great songs from beginning to end with nothing wasted (except for the 3 remixes at the end; they should have not been included). The songs are deep and personal. This is R&B at its best; one of my favorite albums!
FACE'S VERSTATILE ALBUM TO DATE

This was and still is a great album. Combining Pop, Soul, Adult Contemporary together, The Day is one of Babyface's best albums to date. I love the duet he performed and wrote with Stevie Wonder on How Come How Long which shows his sensitive and social conscious side. My favorite joint is his remake of Shalamar's 1981 hit ballad This Is For The Lover in You featuring the classic Shalamar line-up of Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniels and Howard Hewitt and LL Cool J. The harmony is magical (though I wished the video would have showed more of clips of Shalamar) and it also helped enlarged Face's fan base. A great album that dropped nearly 20 years ago.

I remember buying this cd on a whim back when it was first released in 96'. It was the first soul/R&B album that I remember buying, and it led to many more, although none released since this album have met with the same level of satisfaction. This cd was lost to me about 5 years ago, yet replaying it for the first time in several years, I haven't forgotten a single lyric, and know the songs (musically & lyrically) like every square inch of my glorious naked body. "Every Time I Close My Eyes" was the big single off this album, but I find every one of them to be excellent, and the melodies and smooth voice of Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds just soothes me to my soul. I'm glad to have this album in my collection once again.
Greatest Artist Ever To Come Into Pop Music

Babyface has the best voice ever of any Pop artist out there. He is a true inspiration to me to help me become a singer as good as he is. I recommend this album to anyone that loves to jam while they are in the car or anywhere. I have almost memorized every woprd of the songs he's done on this album. My favorite would have to be as the following: Everytime I Close My Eyes, I said I love You,Simple Days, Seven Seas, and The Day(That You Gave Me A Son). This is the best albumn in Pop History EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
