OMG, just heard this couple on CMA Awards, had to listen to the album. So many great songs on it, had to buy this album. They brought down the house with soulful country storytelling-truth telling. I’m so glad the CMAs introduced this amazingly talented duo to us.

Impossible not to be impressed by the sound here. Very stirring admixture. However, Chiviacle is wrong to say that blacks shaped the sound of country music. Country and bluegrass (originally known as hillbilly) is primarily sourced in Irish and scottish folk pathways. It is a deeply western European folk tradition that took a few points from black church singing on its way through appalchia before becoming the foundational to rock and roll along with black delta blues and shout gospel. Saying so isn't racist it is equidistant and informed.

I guess all you have to do to have a country record these days, is record it in Nashville. Country by proximity.
