  • Victor's best cd

This recording marks Victor Manuelle's route to being #2 in the 90's. Gilberto Santa Rosa #1 and Frankie Ruiz #3. Also, the first song where he becomes a "sonero" with "Ahora Me Toca A Mi" a six-minute song where the percussion goes all out. When I first heard this cd, I was impressed, saying to myself: There are still some soneros left!!! Excellent arrangements from beginning to end. My second favorite is "Todo Quedo, Quedo" followed closely by "Como Una Estrella". Nice danceable love songs. "Hay Que Poner El Alma" is very good too backed up nicely by sinthesizers. The opening song "Pensamiento Y Palabra" is outstanding as it reveals Victor's voice to the max. "Sin Querer Queriendo", a popular song, was well sang by Victor. I like his version better than others. "Volveras" was a song that every spanish club played 100 times a night and became old very quickly, nevertheless, it's a great song. "La Razon De Mi Vida" is also well sang by Victor and was overshadowed by the others so it wasn't played as much. Victor has tried to come back with a new album trying to top this one but has failed. "Decision Unanime" and "A Pesar De Todo" were very good but no match for this one. Victor is our present sonero-to-the-future (He's still very young) so enjoy his music and enjoy this cd. He's recording a lot of slow jams nowadays but still records hot spicy salsa. I see him as the top salsa singer once Gilberto Santa Rosa goes to heaven. Peace!!!!

This is Victor's first album with the New York sound. It is a great album. Ahora Me Toca a Mi shows off his sonero skills and all the songs are well written. Some are old classics. Excellent for dancers and musicians alike...
