  • An underrated band

The first time that I heard the song "Vehicle" was when Bo Bice performed it on American Idol. I purchased Bo Bice's CD single, so I knew that Jim Peterik had written the song. But, I didn't realize that he had sung lead vocals on anything until I happened upon the samples for his "Above the Storm" solo CD. I had gone to Frontiers' website looking for info/samples of Survivor's "Reach" album and had also found out about "Above the Storm". I loved that CD and the World Stage album so I decided to check out his Ides of March stuff as well. I have been a Survivor fan since I was a little kid, so it was a little bit of an adjustment getting used to his Ides of March songs. Because of how different they were from the Survivor songs that he had co-written. Aside from "Vehicle", other favorites from this album include: "The Sky is Falling", "Home", "Bald Medusa", "Aire of Good Feeling", and "Symphony for Eleanor". I'm glad that "Lead Me Home, Gently" got the digital 45 treatment. But, I would also like to hear/buy the other non-LP tracks, as well. So, I'm hoping that Warner Bros. will decide to do a "Deluxe" version of the "Vehicle" album, and include all of the non-LP tracks as bonus tracks. Jim Peterik's World Stage album has a duet version of "Vehicle" - (Track #5 - consider it the "Goody Goody Gumdropss" version. :-/ ) - with him singing the song with blues legend Buddy Guy. The Ides of March brass section also plays on that version of the song.

Check out Time for Thinking. This song is a blast and should have been a top-40 staple. Put it in your own collection!
