Brings me back to the days of Long Train Running and Rockin Down the Highway. Good guitar, good harmony, good rock n roll This is the Doobies I love.

In today's world albums have pretty much become a thing of the past. Thos album brings back the concept of 'album' in that one can't listen to and enjoy every song. Now all we need is more artists emulating this concept and we can bring back Tower Records, Peaches, Sam Goody's and The Buzzard's Nest.
  • Tryin’ To Recapture Glory Days.

Oh shut up Corona Joe! What are you going on about? What’s the purpose of your feeble rant? McDonald brought class & new life into the group & held them together & all he gets as thanks is sour grapes from no nothings like you? Talk about gratitude. The Michael McDonald era was great, the Doobies should consider themselves lucky that they struck lightning twice. It’s obvious that the Doobies are trying to earn some money while trying to recapture some of their former glory days on this album. During the pandemic no one can really blame them for that but this is a so so album I’d say & I’ve always been a big fan of theirs, whatever the lineup. 2 stars not so much for the content but for the inane complaining from Corona Joe. Peace.

Although they’re aging, I was Pleasantly surprised. I think the album is outstanding. I love Michael McDonald too but this album was absolutely great without him.
  • Easily one of their best albums.

Patrick Simmons singing is excellent. He’s their understated star.

If you like the early D.B. albums you'll love this album packed with rockin down the highway tunes. Tom Johnstons vocals are strong. The songs will grow on you with each listen. If you like the Michael mcdonald soulful songs checkout We are more than Love . That's as close as you'll get. There really is not a bad so on this record. Great job guys.

This is a good album. In fact, Just Can't Do This Alone is probably one of best new songs they've done is a long time. Shine Your Light, Don't Ya Mess with Me and Easy have that distinct Tom Johnsotn vocal flair. Patrick Simmons soft vocals on We Are More Than Love, Better Days and Wherever We Go are testament to the feel good style of thier music over the past 10 years. I have always found the Doobies enjoyable to listen to and I don't compare their new stuff to their classics and McDonald era. They have been around for 50 years and are always fun in concert. This album reflects their style of guys who love to play.

I sure am glad Michael McDonald is not on this! I quit listening to them while he misguided the band with his limp music. Tom Johnston is the man and this recording has the three main key players performing good solid Doobie tunes. Happy to add it to my music collection. Rock on Doobies!!!

This is Doobie Brothers I grew up with, a little more polished, more mature, and with a dash of country added. Every song is a treat. If you’re looking for Michael McDonald you’ll be disappointed but if your looking for the Doobie Brothers that made their first five albums, you’ll love it.
