This live CD gets 2 huge thumbs up. Incredible live recording, very clear and the band is kicking butt. The funk is heavy. Nice job MIMI, Doc and the gang.

An impressive live concert from the band that defines “big band funk” and what is probably the last major recording by the late great bassist Rocco Prestia. He and drummer David Garibaldi lay down a flawless framework that makes everything above it (brass, guitar and vocals) have context. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching the 90-min special on KQED and neither will you.

I was at the 50th anniversary concerts in Oakland. The concert was awesome and so are these CDs. Tower should be in the Hall of Fame
