Honestly, I was pretty skeptical of this band initially. But Strange Peace really won me over, along with their tour with Survival Knife (aka Unwound guys new band). Though personally, I hear a lot more Jawbreaker in the mix than Unwound and Drive Like Jehu, this album leans into the weird way more so than ever before. There are some really creative compositions on here. The songs are all very distinct, but fit well in the arc of the album.
Atlas Vending is not only my favorite release from METZ, but also easily one of the best rock albums, front to back, that I’ve heard in years.
These guys, DEAF CLUB, Osees, IDLES, Zealot R.I.P, Hot Snakes, and Daughters have really been killing it with good punk n roll, (or whatever the kids call it) over the last few years.
Keep the torch burning guys. Well done. Keep expanding your sound.
