This album sounds pretty different and it took me a few listens to “get it” but now I love it. It’s a mood.

The cringe level is nearly maxed out. They should’ve just released “What Should I Say” as a single..

Imagine being so PLAIN DUMB that you hear Greta speak about “We need to save this planet from ourselves” and think POLITICS!! THAT POLITICS, you people are such mouth breathing retards. We now live in a world of “This is amazing” or “This was garbage”. I wish all of you would just piss off truly. Some great songs on this. It’s not about YOU. It’s an artist who’s not a drug addict anymore writing from the heart. And if a two minute track about our dying planet offends you, you honestly barely deserve to be here. Good riddance.

when i first heard their first on the album my jaw dropped. like go them for having their normal instrumental as a speech of greta, an icon and inspiration for our generation. and yes, a lot has happened probably since they originally planned on having that collab, but i think it was really sweet for the 50th earth day. let them be political. that is a very real part of life. and maybe use that as a jumping off point to research on your own. as for the rest of the album, it was definitely good, maybe not their absolute best, but it definitely got me through quarantine. too shy is so silly and fun. frail state of mind is honestly so relatable if you have dealt with anxiety or depression. matty doesn’t stop with the random beats at all. birthday party is so funky and fun. jesus christ is such a beautiful song ft phoebe Bridgers, like almost poetry. me and you together song and guys are just so feel good having a dance party with your friends (always a must). tonight is the sorta song you want to listen to as you walk down the street dancing. even the more instrumental songs (there are quite a lot) are good. personally i hated them at first but after having the album playing in the background a few times i realized how good they really are. don’t get me wrong shiny collarbone isn’t my favorite, but i wouldn’t trade it for anything else. definitely makes me excited as to where they are going in the future

Mattie Healy and company are back in top form with this album. This record covers an entire landscape of feelings, society, pop culture, sex and politics. The sound created by George and Mattie speak to today’s day and age and I’m here for it. Masterfully done lads!

Bands change. Styles come and go. I get that. But this band hasn’t been fun since the self-titled album (okay, maybe there were a couple fun tunes on the follow-up.) If You’re Too Shy is the only legitimately good song on this record, and that makes me sad.

The 1975 have the worst fans. They act as if they band owes them the music. Good album.
