The thing about Mike Skinner is that he writes descriptive lyrics about what's going on in his immediate life. That's what made Original Pirate Material so great -- and A Grand Don't Come For Free was basically one long story told through a series of tracks. All great stuff because he was getting high and p*ssed with his mates. But in Easy Living, the stuff he's on about is a lot less interesting because it's hard to relate to -- all stuff about being famous and all that.
wonderful

This album is on par with the last two, if you like them, this is probably a safe bet. I've been listening for a few years now, after my friend played "The Irony Of It All" for me.
when you hear a really good song

the first time i heard "when you wasn't famous", i just got the chorus stuck in my head...but the band is really fun to listen to, becuz they don't sound like everybody else. They have a really strong accent....and the background music rocks!!!
dissapointment

Not the best streets album but its still sick. Best songs are When You Wasnt Famous and Never Went to Church. All the people i have showed them to LOVE them to. If you like this album then buy a Grand Dont Come For Free. Anyone know any other good British rap???

that this dude here is absolutely off his damn rocker. the lyrical content is unmatched in its wits and brash humor. keep referring to yourself as "The Streets". if i had a dollar, i would let this dude borrow it as long as he paid me back by sundown...and in case you geezers dont know it, victory's flawless.
hmmmm

Well, I have listened to The Streets since day one, and I have to admit that this isn't really doing it for me. I am sure it will grow on me. If you ever have a chance to see a live show, I would really suggest that you go.
UH..MAZING!!! Fantabulous!

I have no idea how I ran into this artists site but I am happy I did. I am totally hooked. I love his voice! He has an interesting way with hip-hop. I cant quite explain it, but its good. I loved momento mori.
My one warning: Check the song out prior to playing it for young kids! I thought one of my clients would like it (he is a teenager) but in no way allowed to listen to explicit lyrics. The F-word is sprinkled through out some of these songs. Its all good! I certainly dont mind, but I am glad I listened to it first before playing it to my client!
AWESOME ARTIST!!! WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE!
