  • Alternative folk?! Really?!!

This should be under world music, not alternative folk. That being said this is a mind blowing album, as with most of Loreena McKennitt’s music. The Mystic’s Dream is probably among the top ten favorite songs of mine, as it has both dark choirs AND bagpipes (ooh yeah!!) and it’s just a good song even without them. Prospero’s Speech is another great one, and even though it’s the shortest song here it is the most haunting by far. Santiago I feel is among the best instrumental tracks I’ve heard, and I could go on about the rest but that would ruin the album’s prestige by revealing too much. A prime example of CELTIC NEW AGE, not alternative folk…
  • A great introduction to Lorenna

This was the first albumn I listened to and then purchases when it was released. My wife and I have seen her in concert 3 times and miss hearing the musical tours. This one of her best.
