I’ve always loved BOO and all these songs sound amazing in their own way
  • More boring scream-o music.

Great album feeding the growing machine that is known as Newcore
  • Someone doesn't have a calibrated studio.

Awesome music, but there is a major lack of bass. Sounds like someone has a poor mixing environment or doesn't have their sub calibrated. Which is interesting because if this was a proper album, it should've hit multiple points that could've said something. I won't be listening to this harsh album.

They Continue to Deliver the goods album after album where as most bands veer off try something soft & fail. A Great Band to see LIVE as well.
  • BOO continues to deliver

I'll keep giving this a chance. Curious what direction they go in. Hearing a lot of techno loops rather than the Djent/Technical metalcore. TBD...
  • An enjoyable listen

*UPDATE* I have listened now three times through ‘The Simulation’. It’s part one of TWO short albums this year by BoO. It’s a very well done album. I think it’s quite a mixture of sounds from BoO, who has mastered a mix between riffs and ideas from The New Reign, The Discovery, and Soul Sphere. They touch into new territory with an increase in synths in a few tracks, which works out overall well, especially on Under The Gun- the best song on the album. Fabulously catchy chorus, good riffs, nice bass-synth-vocal section. That’s the atmosphere many BoO fans want to hear! The two least interesting songs to me are The Accursed and Analogs in A Cell. We’ve heard these songs before and in the latter, the skill of appreciation is appreciated, but not particularly memorable. That said, they aren’t skip over songs. Disconnectome sounds like something off TNR, absolutely nailing the “....REANIMATE!” Riff riff atmosphere “...WE HAVE A SECRET!..” The song ends with synth siren-girl vocals we’ve come to Love off TD. Cycles of Tragedy is another highlight. Great pacing, a bit of clean-dirty vocals, synth, a great solo to end the song. Sounds like it was a SS song. The most ‘unique’ song off the album has to be One Without The Other! Just listen to it and you’ll see what I mean. It’s a wonderful break from the 00-000-0-000-0-00 9^-00. A nice short bass-synth-drum section also occurs. Overall, it’s a very strong release. There is a strong sound from their previous album still, which is kind of BoO’s now trademark sound, but with enough interesting parts to keep us all listening and having fun, and that’s what counts.
