So I'm a DJ, so I do love a good remix. This isn't it. This is one to pick and choose vs. buying the whole album blind. The Juan Maclean mix of Catch My Fall is essential, but 2 years after most of these mixes sound VERY dated and take the joy out of the originals. Not sure the point of this.

Some of these songs really POP! I loved this, and, despite what others have said, feel it’s very much in the vein of Billy Idol. It pushes new boundaries in music, and I like that. It really moves. What could be more rebellious than seeing a line and saying, “let’s cross it!” Plus, you can dance to every song, even if you’re just dancing with yourself.
  • Lacks ENERGY..................

I know these remakes are outta respect for the Big Man but they lack energy.... No Drive like the originals had.... Too Bad. Could have been super cool..

This was a very remix collection. There are several other songs that l’d like to see remixed, so I’m hopeful there will be an additional follow on remix album.

Let’s start by saying that I do indeed like remixes, when they are good remixes. I’ve been a fan of Idol since Generation X. He, to my little 7-8 yo brain was pure, raw, in your face, “I don’t care what you think” energy. Didn’t hurt that he was sporting the bleached white hair, I was a towhead. Fast forward and here we are two decades later. His music was all over MTV when it started. His music was even on other channels late at night trying to capitalize on the Music Video craze MTV had created. This album is full of old friends that have been revisited and tweaked. Are they all good remixes? Well, not in my opinion. But some of them got a makeover that is like receiving that fully restored ‘63 Split Back Stingray (if that’s your cup of tea). I got excited to hear the remixes and quite a few of them are being added to my “Idol” and “‘80’s” playlists. That being said, I’ll let you judge for yourself.
