  • Boring.. but then its Rap

    By Musicologist
I am so bored by Rap music and I cant beleive that tracks llike this are nmominated for awards. Now if awards are based on popularity then I have not much to say. If the awards are based on the quality of the musicicianship then most rap doesn't hit the mark. Now dont get me wrong, I was a kid during the origin of rap and hip hop music. I used to play all the latest tunes on my "boom box". I just feel like I have outgrown rap music a long time ago and it doesnt seem to be getting any better as time marches on. Sorry young folks, I know good music and most rap just doesnt fall in to the category.

How the heck did this win a grammy? this song is terrible!
  • So... Another one sells out!

This is America ('Course I'm Only Giving You the message the label wants you to hear.) Should be the title. I do like the beat, but there SHOULD be more to this, as it only gives "America" from a black, first person perspective.

Why did this horrible song win a Grammy?!
  • nowhere near as good as earlier work

Without the music video this song just isn’t that good. By itself it’s just a repetitive mess. This is one of those things that needs to have the video with it. There’s practically no enunciation, and the “rhymes” only work because of this fact. Honestly, this song just feels like a way for DG to talk about his political beliefs, which is fine. Again, without the video though it just kind of feels hollow and repetitive. Buy the video instead of the song.
