This music is a mature body of work with a variety of music but a distinct fingerprint. I appreciate the soulful interpretations of pieces that I’ve been familiar with through artist of the past. I also can feel the connection of the artist story through both the excerpts and music performed. Overall excellence. Some people produce just to showcase their music abilities. Others produce because they have a message to relay to others. This is the latter.

Fatherless Child is an insightful story of how an instrument acts as a surrogate to help a young boy progress to become man. Even with that, this album is a creative musical masterpiece for everyone. Each song is well done and high quality.

The album Fatherless Child is a great piece of work! You can really hear Jamar’s heart and his musical genius! I thoroughly enjoy the 59 minute journey from childhood to an adult. Kudos Jamar, not only is this amazing jazz and it makes me evaluate my own relationship with my father or lack there of, going to give him a call to thank him for being there, Thank You!!

I hate to put this in one category, because it’s so much more! The piano sings, but the music is a book of emotions. Easy to listen to, heartfelt.

This album reflects a deeply personal journey. The music encompasses that journey and gives light to what even may lay ahead. The instrumentals tell stories as to where words are not even needed. The songs with vocals only serve to further move the story forward as it progresses and reaches the finale. This is an album worth buying and worth listening to.
