KWS gone country?
The one song I really like was the last one which sounded more you then the rest
Straight up rocking grooves!
Here’s a hard hitting rock blues sound, complete with powerful guitars and top class vocals. I love that crunchy groove on RIDE OF YOUR LIFE and HOW LOW CAN YOU GO, coming on so string from start to finish with outstanding guitars. The vocals, backing harmony and a fantastic guitar solo make the ballad HARD LESSON LEARNED one of my favourites on this record. The title track LAY IT ON DOWN has perfect guitar parts, wonderful harmony and vocals in ideal measure. Another track I was floored by is SHE’S $$$, so nicely rhythmic that it pulls you in with the beat and to top it all, DIAMONDS & GOLD gives a tad of a nice different feel with brilliant brass section playing some nice parts and a great wah guitar! Rocking!!
KWS BAND ROCKS!
I've been a fan of this band for many years and own all albums. I adore Kenny, Noah, and Chris. Mr Layton is not only a legend but a hero. It is such a joy to see these musicians perform live. This album is different but I love the fact that it offers a new perspective on their music. Noah's vocals have always been amazing but it's really is wonderful to hear Kenny singing several tracks. As a blues lover I'm praying that this album also breaks the charts of other genres. Hoping the rest of the world hears what true talent sounds like.
Wanting some more blues rock.
Pretty decent album but never going to enjoy Kenny singing when Noah is 100 times better. I do miss the more blues rock sound of the first 3 albums.
No More Blues
If you like KWS, the bluesman, do not bother with this CD. If you like country music, buy this CD.
Where is Noah
By SLICK AND THE GIRLS
When you have the best rock-blues singer in the entire world, he should sing every song. When you have one of the best guitarists in the world, he plays guitar. Kenny, it is a good album and you sing okay, but when you have a Bently in the garage, you don't drive your Ford.
Great songwriting, and I prefer KWS vocals! Worth the wait!!
This new CD rocks. It's been in heavy rotation in my car since it came out. KWS never disappoints. I've been following Kenny since I first heard Blue on Black. Their live shows are the best. I've also seen him twice with the Hendrix Experience Tour and Kenny steals the show everytime.
Nope. Can't do it.
I love KWSs playing. I love Noah Hunt's voice. Together, they make amazing blues-rock.
This album lacks 2 things
1. Not enough Noah Hunt
2. Not enough blues-rock
This is a blatant play for the currently popular Modern Country genre. However, this turns off those off us that can't stand country music of any kind.
Love this album
