Reviews

  • Justice has evolved

I find it strange how nobody seems to have nocticed the seemingly obvious evolution Justice has undergone, as cataloged by this latest album. Woman captures all of the singular tones and generes they've played with over the years (rock, punk, funk, disco, techno). In this album, all of the beforementioned trends coalese. Admittedly, this is displayed mainly in three or four of their songs (Alakazam !, Fire, and Randy), but this is precious, original material. After half a decade of silence, I'm very pleased to see the iconic cross again.

Will follow indefintely from Cross and Audio Video Disco. This is a great silt laying ride, and it sets the stage for anything. Bitter sweet normality from the mind wrenching debut combined with the affirming follow up. Cannot miss!!!

This album is just very dull. That's how to describe it. Very soulless and dull. It seems many electro house artists have been turning to disco recently, like Justice and Wolfgang Gartner. The one thing that always gets to me is Cross. Cross is in my top ten albums of all time, my favorite songs off of the record being either Dvno or Stress. How can the same producers behind one of my favorite albums of all time make something so just... blah. This album is sort of like a cheeseburger from a diner in the middle of nowhere. While it isn't very good, it is at least something to eat, or in this case, something new from Justice to listen to.
  • Different, amazing sound

I missed Justice, and the wait was well worth it. This is an amazing album from start to finish, the discoesque synth and heavy bass makes you want to bump it as loud as you can in your car. You'll NEED this album if you've been a fan of Justice since D.A.N.C.E.
  • While good, this is their weakest album to date.

Cross and Audio, Video, Disco were two top notch albums. Cross went full electronica by mixing in heavy synths and a Daft Punk esque style into one awesome release. Audio, Video, Dicso was a good departure, letting the group explore prog rock in all of its glory, while still retaining the complicated arrangements found in the first album. Woman seems like a simpler album and one that doesn't feel complete. There are a few standout songs, most notably the singles released prior to the album's launch, but the rest is simply ok. Although as a whole it's a good package, this is in my opinion, the weakest Justice album to date.
  • Another classic.

Justice does it again. This time it's the use of incredible vocals and melodies that grow more nuanced the more you listen. The most impressive album of the year for dance music. With "woman" you hear a vintage yet refined story. Well worth the purchase. Especially for fans looking for that unique justice brand of music!! Bravo. "Alakazam" is the clear fan favorite.
  • Defintely a smoother album than the others

The production is still 5 star, but overall it doens't seem to satisfy the Planisphere or Cross heavy distortion crave many of us had. Still a brilliantly done album!
  • Was Cross just a fluke?

I am at tears writing this. I don't want to, but JUstice heavily influenced what my music taste is now, and it all started with Cross. Woman is just ok, BUT WHY!!!?!? THESE GUYS WERE THE PIONEERS! PUT ELECTRO BACK ON THE FREAKIN MAP!!! WHATS GOING ON?!?!!?
