It’s hard to believe this album is twenty years old. I became aware of the Dolls when I heard A Boy Named Goo, so that is my favorite album of theirs. I went on to check out and like some of their older releases like Hold Me Up and Superstar Carwash. Dizzy Up the Girl is very good. Along with all the hits from this album are other great songs like January Friend. People complain about the bass player singing but I like the songs on which he sings. I realize Johnny is the voice of the Dolls but when Robby sings it adds a raw texture to the songs. Keep singing Robby. I dig it!

Easily the Goo Goo Dolls best album with hits like ‘Iris’, ‘Broadway’, ‘Dizzy’, etc, this album has it all. Really well done. One of my favorites.

I get what people say about how the Goo Goo Dolls "went mainstream" and maybe betrayed their "old sound," trading in the rawness of their music for a more clean-cut version...but, for me, old or new, the Goo Goo Dolls have always been all about the lyrics. I like the ballad sound of "Iris" and "Name"...but I like the lyrics of their songs far more. It's like poetry to music; and whether that music is true alt rock or mainstream pop, it doesn't change my love for the Goo Goo Dolls. And Dizzy Up the Girl is definitely my favorite album.

What's up with bass player singing? Brings the album down in my opinion. I listen to this album every year on my birthday
