Willie, thanks for making these American standards accessible to the listening ear. It’s a great set, played like you’d want to hear it in a small cabaret: every instrument, note, beat, phrasing clear and true without any added arrangements or over engineering the sound. I don’t know how you do it, but you keep it fresh with every new turn in your career. And congratulations on your Gershwin Award!

Mr. Nelson does us all a favor and does a sparkling duet with none other than the wonderfully diverse Cyndi Lauper. Can’t wait to hear him on her upcoming country album…..Just pure FUN!

Willie, you’re a legend, but I always thought of you as Country Legend. Hearing you step out of your “comfort zone”, and covering the music of my all time favorites, George and Ira Gershwin. Seems apt, a legend covering legends! Side note to “McKavitt”, how is it possible to misspell “Gershwin” twice in one short sentence? 😳. Suggestion, read your posts before you post them.
