You get every Mozart piano concerto minus 7, like everyone else has said, for $5.99. Thats a pretty darn good deal. I'm sure the players are top notch but the recording is thin and kind of distant. The dynamics’s within the indvidual tracks can vary quite a bit. Then certain tracks are simply louder than others so be prepared to turn your sound system up and down. If youre looking for a singular piece you can probably find better sounding tracks elsewhere. If you want an overview of the man's career this provides an excellent value. In the end this is either 5 stars because its a great deal or 2 stars because of the sound quality. It depends on your use case.

Mozart COMPLETE PIANO CONCERTOS (except for No. 7) I don't know much about music but I'm usually pretty good with numbers - is there any reason it should not be included?

  • 16 Missing Tracks from Download - Buyer Beware!!!

Beware - do not purchase this. There are tracks missing from almost all of the concertos from No. 14 on. I've tried deleting and re-downloading - to no avail. Also, my itunes folder on my PC also contains this error, so I know it originated with itunes. Don't get ripped off until Apple fixes this problem. Classical music is treated as an afterthought by Apple, but don't let their lowest common denominator approach to culture win out - your $ is just as good as the degenerate who is buying the latest Beyonce album. Again, don't waste your money here until apple fixes. If this were the first, or even the second, or even the third, screwup with classical music that Apple has perpetrated, so be it. But it's not.

Not only do you get all of Mozart's piano concertos; the recording quality is great and some of the best piano players in the world make up the recordings including Alfred Brendel! The value for the price is phenomenal ... not to be missed!! Check out the VoxBox edition of Mozart's symphonies as well ... incredible!!

The fact that this set is an incredible value is only a part of its appeal. The collection represents some of the greatest music for piano and orchestra ever written, and the performances are all by professional musicians deeply steeped in the central European tradition of Mozart performance. Not only do you get (almost—#7 isn’t here) the entire range of Mozart’s piano concerto output, you get performances by 5 different pianists all with their own distinctive pianistic skills and unique artistic contributions. The orchestral conducting and playing is equally up to the task. This is a marvelous way to experience the growth of Mozart’s compositional sophistication from #1 to #27. One of the special insights that comes from these recordings is how Mozart’s concertos are conversations between the piano and the instruments of the orchestra. The interplay seems almost human, and there is frequently an operatic feel, in the sense of the best moments of “Le nozzle di Figaro” and “Die Zauberflöte." I haven’t been able to stop listening since I bought it.
