Absolutely fantastic performance. I can't stand listening to Bruce Springstein, but he really did write a great song here. Eddie Vedder took it showed everyone what a top class vocalist can do with a great song. Unbelievable how Vedder's voice not only hasn't deteriorated over time, it's instead gained clarity and tone. It's high time he starts being associated with the best of the best vocalists, and not just grunge rock.

This really is a great song, but with Eddie performing it it is powerful stuff. I don´t want to take anything away from Bruce, since it´s his song and very special in its own right with him singing. But there´s probably no one else in the world who could strip down a song like this and deliver such an amazing cover. The only way to really appreciate is by turning the song up loud, sitting back and then closing your eyes. The song´s essentially about loss and a sense of hopelesesness, but by the end when you have Eddie bellowing, ¨With these hands, with these hands . . . ¨ there´s a pretty rousing sense of recovery. And it all starts ¨with these hands.¨ . . . Good stuff
  • Wow Eddie & Bruce!

This was very powerful cover of Bruce Springsteen's song "My City Of Ruins"! BIG IDEA! Eddie + Bruce should record a "Duet / Cover" album, BUT Eddie covers Bruce's songs & Bruce covers Eddie / Pearl Jam's song! They should re-record this song, but as a duet where BOTH of them are singing in this song too! That would be AWESOME!

I can NOT get enough of Eddie....it doesn't matter if it is with Pearl Jam, or alone. His voice and lyrics take me away..he makes me feel and relate like no other performer. It is raw and real...we need more!

Maybe Bruce was saying darn as I forgot to wear my lucky underwear this night. No one can say what he was thinking that night. Just want to sell more songs.

This is a great song by the great Eddie Vedder. I definately recommend it. Palmreader needs to stay away saying Eddie is a sell out. Keep that negitive crap out of here, especially for this cause.
