Ditto the previous review. Preview didn’t work so I risked a dollar. Post modern interpretation pretty much ruined the beauty of Tales from the Vienna Woods. Bad buy.

I was looking for a copy of "Tales of the Vienna Wood"s to round out my al;bum of Strauss works with Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I downloaded Andre Rieu's version, thinking that, Well, this guy does a lot of light classics, so why not? Ooops! Pretty bad. Lots of re-aranging using instruments (like the piano) which have no business being a part of Strauss orchestral waltzes. Certain sections missing entirely....just overall a bad reconding if you want to hear what the Waltz King actually wrote.
