I put this album in my top 5 list for all time favorite hardcore releases without hesitation. In my opinion it is hardcore perfection. Matt strikes a nice balance between cleans, screams, and growls. Travis's drumming is SICK!!! The guitars are just... well they make me wanna cry they are wicked and beautiful at the same time. While the direction they are going in now may be in question there is no doubt that Acendancy is metal as f@*K! The only problem with a band putting out something this good so early in their career is that fans end up comparing following releases to that one album. Have they put out anything as good as Acendancy? No, but with Shogun and In Waves they came close.

Shogun is close second, this albums gets better and better with every song passing. Trepidation is my favorite.

Just discoverd this band, but they sound great and i really love the voice of the singer. My favorite would have to be Down from the Sky

I'm extremely impressed with the new album "Ascendancy." I'm glad they made a new album this good. This album is guaranteed to blow your mind away. Also, you gotta love Trivium for making the Metallica cover. It's outstanding, it was amazing when I first heard it. Highlight songs: Rain, Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr, Declaration, and Master of Puppets.

If I could give this album more than five stars i would, probably the best album ever. It's the only album I can listen to all the way through. KEEP IT UP TRIVIUM!!!!!

Finally! a band has actually made an awesome remake of Master of Puppets and iTunes has fixed the error of making washing me away in the tides an "album only" track!

This album is so awesome! It's got a cover of master of puppets. Dying In Your Arms has to be my favorite track, it's got that melodic feel, with some metal influences. Best album by Trivium.
