MY GOOD FRIEND SAM DID THE BASS TRACK ON BROADWAY FOR GEORGE BASS PLAYER AND SAM DID A GREAT JOB

Well actually, I had it on 8-track (remember those) tape and GROOVED until it didn't play anymore! Well, here I am some 40 years later (really?) and it's still GOOD! As for George, we have a history beyond "Weekend...", I did his "Unchained Melody" @ my "Bobby Bee Sings for Someone He Loves - You" Concert... Kudos GB!

I first bought this album back in the early 80s. Still my favorite! Piano on Down Here On The Ground is great. On Broadway a classic!. Greatest Love Of All can still bring me to tears. If you are a Benson fan you already know the truth. If you are not a Benson fan you will be!!! George, Thank you for a life time of soul moving music.

On Broadway, the ONLY version by George Benson that should be downloaded is album only? Come on! I want the song, but I'm not paying $10 for it and the edit just rips out the soul!!

The Greatest

For anyone who has ever heard George Benson play live, this album brings it all back. For anyone who hasn't - why the hell not?!? This is a fantastic, high-energy live recording with Benson at the height of his powers and popularity. Benson's rendition of "The Greatest Love of All," a song he wrote for the Muhammad Ali bio-pic "The Greatest" beats Whitney Houston hands down! And the extended live version of "On Broadway," which was used as the soundtrack for the dance auditions in the film "All That Jazz" is worth the price of the entire album. Buy it and be blown away!
