One of the best, but just not this album...
I was introduced to Jim Gaffigan about 2 months ago and it took a total of 12-½ minutes to become my favorite comedian (or at least top 3 for sure). Safe for work as well, which is definitely awesome so you don’t need to worry about your boss coming up behind you and expressing his disapproval of the comedian’s choice of words with some choice words ;). No doubt that this album will make you laugh out loud 70% of the time, but if you’re new to Gaffigan, I’d recommend one of his other albums (with video). Mr. Universe, Baby King, Beyond the Pale, and Obsessed are all great choices for someone just discovering Jim Gaffigan. I would also highly recommend that you check out his new (06/2015) TV show, available on iTunes and TV Land (and I think Comedy Central?)… I don’t remember laughing that hard with any other TV show (or comedian for that matter).
My only issue with “Doing My Time” is that it sports the “Parental Advisory” warning, however I noticed that several minor “NSFW” words are blanked out (i.e. “ass”). Regardless, it’s funny and if you’re one of “those” people, you can go ahead and play any of his albums for your church group and not go to hell. Well, you won’t be going to hell for that anyways… To reiterate, if you’re somewhat new to Gaffigan, I’d recommend one of his videos with, well, video (this is audio only). Ugh, there it was again. Blanked out the word “bitch”. That’s about the strongest word he uses, but it really shouldn’t be blanked out when it has the “PA” warning attached. Gah! And again! If you’re a fan, grab this, otherwise steer clear. The further it goes the more annoyed I’m getting with the constant editing hahaha. Still laughing though…
Misleading Labels Hurt Good Album
I love Jim's material, and the jokes on this album are really funny. As others have pointed out though, this is a "clean" version. I wouldn't mind this if the album were labeled that way - but in fact it has a parental advisory, and many of the tracks are labeled as "Explicit." They aren't. This does a disservice to everyone. People who are used to Jim being a clean act will avoid buying this clean version. What's worse is that the expletives are edited out poorly. Every time Jim swears, it sounds like the track has skipped.
This album would be funny if it were not censored. What is this!? 1950!?
Ripped off by iTunes
Not only did they sell me an edited version of jim gaffigan (without stating that) they say its 9.99 and then charge me 15 bucks. F You iTunes, I will never purchase something from you again.
It's my own fault
I should have read the reviews, which make it perfectly clear that this album is not worth the money.
Bought this for $9.99. I already bought and love beyond pale and king baby. The only thing I got from this was the gravy drinker bit (5 min) lame. Cost me all that for only one bit? Bull S@$T
buy the other two albums and gloss over this, close your eyes and humm until you don't see this album if you have to? Clean? Seriously? If anything I demand more offensive jokes and bad language, more jesus jokes would also be nice, very nice.
Doin' My Time
By B Pocket
There is no doubt, Jim Gaffigan is one funny dude. But this CD should not be your first stop. Buy "Beyond the Pale" or "King Baby". Doin' My Time is editted to remove "objectionable words" which only disrupts the flow. The recording is subpar with VERY loud parts followed by too quiet whispers. This CD feels like a compilation of many performances put together; whereas "Beyond" and "King" listen as though you were at a well polished show. Doin my time is for the Gaffigan fan who needs to own everything available.
What the hell happened Jim!

This guy is great and both of his other CD's crack me up. But this is crap. Why would you clean up something that barely needs cleaning in the first place. Buy the other two and pretend this one dosen't even exist.
This album is funny
