This album is everything. Samba da Bençáo is and will always be my favorite. So chill.

Every track on this cd is memorable and perfect...Samba e Amor and August Day Song and So Nice are my top three.

The sound quality, as I have downloaded it, is terrible! This is the worst of over 500 downloads I have from iTunes and it is especially bad. Fuzzy, variable volume and generally muddy! Maybe Bebel's studio session was arranged at a special low quality price. CoyoteRifle

On a bossa nova kick today, I've been downloading all sorts of Brazilian Jazz and I decided to revisit a favorite of mine.. Bebel Gilberto. I first heard of Gilberto in 2008 from a music bar in Miami, called Base. Little did I know how much her style would impact mine. When you listen to this album it's a sweet escape from mondane life. It's like taking a vacation. I actually can't believe that there are only 4 reviews for this debut. I'm actually quite shocked. If you haven't heard of Bebel Gilberto, you've been missing out. I bought this great album years ago on CD and never tire of it. Listening to Bebel Gilberto is like being transported to the sunny beaches of South America. Great to listen to when it's 20 degrees F and snowing outside - like right now. Her voice is soothing, smooth and sexy. All are favorites, but August Day Song, Tanto Tempo and Samba e Amor are standouts. Her cover of So Nice is fun and happy. Close Your Eyes will bring you straight to Carnivale! Buy the whole album and enjoy for years to come.

there's some gorgeous gems on this one, and her tone really cuts through the music nicely...my faves, 1-3 are amazing, so nice, and sama e amor is incredible....and that hammock review pretty much sums it up too

All I can say is WOW this album is good.

Get a hammock, a drink and chill w/the one you love... This is the perfect soundtrack for that.
