Yes, the majority of compilation/greatest hits albums are pure marketing schemes. A bit of insight on the actual substance and quality of the music would be nice as well.

I love the mix of hits and the unreleased "Get Born Again". The classics are present, but there are also some hidden "treasures" that i would never have found if i did not purchase this album, such as "What the Hell Have I" or "Again". An awesome album from a great band.

A couple of those were Layne puts lots of emotion into them. Nutshell, Love Hate Love... What The Hell Have I is one of my favorite songs. Glad it's on here. Buy this if you've only recently started listening to Alice In Chains.

i rate this album highly because although there are a LOT of songs missing, this band has so many essential tracks that you couldnt possibly fit them all on one cd. this is a good place to start if you're new to this band. if you like all the 90's grunge/hard rock bands, this band clearly stands tall above all of the rest. they are possibly my favorite band of all time, and none of the other bands of the era compare to them in terms of lyrics/vocals or musicianship. must have for anyone who claims to like rock n roll.

The selection of songs is great for any Alice In Chains fan. The only songs I would have changed is switch the acoustic Got Me Wrong for the studio version and add Over Now. But for 15 tracks, this is simply an amazing album.
