I've loved the movie since I was a kid and adore the song "Please don't stop loving me".

Elvis does a great job with songs written to actually advance the plot of the movie. Moreover, these are some of Elvis' best ballads, especially "Beginner's Luck." I'd like to see this screenplay adapted into a musical theater production with Harry Connick in the lead.

While this is not the best Elvis soundtrack album, there are some good songs. "Shout It Out" is a fun song to listen to when having a bad day.

Even though this was a tough piont in his career, Elvis still tried his hardest to make every movie he did, no matter how wierd it was, a intertaining show. Although some songs are kinda geeky, Elvis made Frankie and Johnny a good film. Elvis is two places: Las Vegas and New Orleans. We need king creole to make this perfect! Go Elvis!

Not among Elvis's better moments. The title song is considered a minor classic and was a hit single in it's day. "Please Don't Stop Loving Me" is a nice, heartfelt ballad and "Hard Luck" is a decent blues tune. As far as the whole is concerned you have to give it credit for staying faithful to the time period of the film in which it is from. The album is very flavored with a rag-time, New Orleans riverboat feel, which is what it was suppose to be. But, most of the songs here are just not that great, and nobody could have done much with them, even Elvis.
