I live in a very beautiful, but poorly constructed, 3 flat. With noisy upstairs neighbors that work the bar scenes, and a roommate who doesn't own an "inside voice" especially when drinking. Once i get to fall asleep I am usually woken up by heavy walking upstairs, the plumbing pipes that run behind the wall of my bed or somebody stumbling in at 3am. I have used this track the last two night and slept like a baby... Ahhhhh!! I love that it is 1 one hour track and I hit repeat, gives you more than enough time to fall asleep before the track restarts. If you have a noisy place and need some white noise, I highly recommend it! worth the $9. Thank you who ever created it.

Yes it's an hour of the same thing...but that's exactly what I wanted. Rain storms with thunder or ocean waves crashing against the beach have a tendency to make me "aware" and actually listen. This is basically White Noise and it works perfectly to drown out any sounds that could keep me awake. But better yet, this is perfect for when there is total silence. When the silence is deafening, this continual rain in the background allows your thoughts to relax and your brain to go into shut-off mode for sleep. I have a machine at home that does this sound and I purchased (yes, for $9.99) this for the iPod to use with my iHome while on the road. I can be in any hotel and it puts me right to sleep while I'm away. A good night's rest is worth WAY more than $9.99 in my opinion.

The recording is fine but I discovered that the rain sound is too intense and fast to be effective in inducing sleep. There are crystalline sounds of droplets in the foreground and it feels more like the unending clapping hands of an audience. The 'speed' of the rain ended up energizing me rather than putting me to sleep. No 'absolute sleep' at all.

When I bought this album, I thought I was buying cleverly named Def Leapord album, but it turns out it's just a hour of monotonus rain noises that makes me fall asleep.

Okay.... No offense, but who wants to pay ten dollars to listen to OVER AN HOUR of rain? really.

I bought this same exact mp3 album (if you want to call it that) for 99 cents on Amazon. Unlike Itunes, they considered it equivalent to any other 99 cent track. This meant huge savings for me... and anyone else who hasn't already paid the ridiculous $9.99.

We have a 2 month old and this sound clip shuts her up within a minute most times. We also have run all night in her room and it seems to help there as well.
