Instant classic! I still listen to this and its sequel which came out first - Disposable Arts on a regular basis! They are two of the greatest albums of all time of any genre!

Masta ace is one of the few originating emcees that hasn't had any trouble staying relevant. This album as well as disposable arts are albums you can put in press play and enjoy. Must have

I waited 7 years to cop Long Hot Summer for two reasons.....The first was because I still bump Disposable Arts to this day and still think it is one of the best complete albums that was ever made. The second was I didnt think it could ever be out done. This was the perfect follow up to Disposable Arts...Like that album, Long Hot Summer is easy to press play and let it ride. Two perfect albums back to back is not an easy task. Masta Ace kills it! Easily one of the most underrated cats out there! And I am listening to it for the first time 7 years after it was released and it doesnt feel dated at all. Not going to list stand out tracks cause you are doing yourself an injustice if you dont hear the album in its entirety.

This is an amazing album that I would argue to be a classic hip hop album. I listened to it all the way through in one sitting and not once did I hit the skip button. The interludes are great and tie the songs toghether to really give you a great fictional story about one summer from NY to on tour to jail. If you have the chance to cop this do it immediatley! I rarely get this excited over an album but this is AMAZING! Masta Ace is very talented and the features are good and add a perfect counterbalance to Ace. Standout tracks: Beautiful, Da Grind, Good Ol Love, Soda & Soap, Revelations

This Should be released and remarketed. Has several hits. 50 Cent, Eminme, Game. Snoop or Dre should get with this guy. He's real. kinda a throw back and current. It's 2008. I been listening to this all day. It's still crazy. Well produced.

I'm a Masta Ace noob. After I listened to his tracks "Rap 2k1", "Spread It Out" and his verse on "Hellbound" (with Eminem & J-Black), I had to hear some more. He is a true emcee, something that half of these Southern rappers is not.

I bought Disposible Arts with out know who masta ace was. As soon as i got done with listening to it, i came and grabed a long hot summer. I have never replayed a cd more. after and after i was addicted to the story throughout the disc. Each track has a beat and lyrics that fit so ryhmicaly. Masta Ace sets this disc up like DA as a story.Stand out tracks for me where, Good Ol Love, Beautiful, Brooklyn Masala( great story about this chick), Travelocity with punch&words, The Ways. Take a risk and check masta ace out.
