It has an entirely different vibe and that’s OK. It’s got a bit of a cybergrunge intensity to it, which is kind of the point!

I truly did want to enjoy this, I did. The true mastery of their craft is completely present, make no mistake about that. I understand the soundtracks have evolved over time, but compared to the growth of all the Battlefield soundtracks, this left me feeling quite disappointed. I can see how this will perfectly compliment the in game ambience and play through experience. The biggest issue I have is the “Theme Song”. Every self titled track in previous battlefield games has been undoubtedly the most intense and epic sounding track in the album, and always maintained that classic battlefield theme. This one feels like it was made that way and then twisted and distorted into something highly abrasive. Phenomenal artists, album not quite so much.

I've always enjoyed the Battlefield soundtracks, and I gotta say, this has one of the more gripping and intense music of the franchise. Battlefield 3's theme is still my all time favorite, but the variation here is unsettling and seriously brilliant. So glad Hildur was hired to co-score with Sam Slater! You can tell which pieces she either wrote or performed on just from the haunting string arrangements.
  • This isn’t music

This is honestly disappointing. Sounds nothing like the previous Battlefield scores from BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV. Like, if wanted to bring some nostalgia back, could’ve gotten some BF4 vibes, instead this sounds like a broken record, not music at all. Disappointing!
