Look, I love most of for King and Country’s music. Really, I do. But there’s just. Too. Many. Remixes. Now, if it were to be one or two, that’s one thing. Most people enjoy the remixes, and I respect that different tones can make the perception of a song more prominent or powerful to the audience. However, six or seven remixes (like the ones for God Only Knows) is just... overkill, for lack of a better word. I love y’all’s work, and I love the music, but when all you release is remixes, it can be hard to really invest in the words and the meaning. We’ve all had this song memorized since 2018, and a half dozen rewrites isn’t going to increase the experience. I gave this song 4 stars because I think the lyrics deserve it, but the background music is almost the same as the original. I can see this easily spiraling out of control again, though, like the remixes for “God Only Knows” did. Overall, I love the music, but maybe back off on the remixes a bit. That’s just my unprofessional opinion.
