Just absolute master craft. Down all with live studio arrangements. This man is doing things the music industry will never wholly recognize. Do yourself a favor and just get the whole album. Special points to tracks “olympians” and “Bloodless”.

I had always known of his music and liked some but this album is simply incredible. Vast and layered, every song wrestles huge issues with an ease and jovial spirit that is astounding to listen to.

His best work yet? I think the case can be made. This is a relatively restrained album for Bird. Less eccentric/showy than his earlier work, it’s rich, harmonious, and even a little bluesy. Every song is excellent and, as typical with Bird, requires multiple listens to truly savor. Andrew Bird is a musical genius at the top of his game.

The compositions are a bit of a cross of Frank Turner and Eliot Smith. If you like either or both, give MFWY a try.

His finest work yet is his finest work yet! A work of art. Brilliant writing, brilliant performances. Big, airy sound with the “Spector” approach of live recording instruments. Madison Cunningham’s vocals makes for a perfect complimentary fit to Andrew’s. More please!
