Hearing Best Years of my Life sucked me into this album. Leavers’ Lullaby and Milkman also stand out for their simple honesty. Commissary is interesting- first time I’ve ever heard a psychedelic country song. Apparently 3 country girls were temporarily possessed by Mazzy Star - listen through the whole song- it strangely works. The mood lightens on Stop Drop & Roll One, Sugar Daddy, and Got My Name Changed Back. Interstate Gospel is upbeat too and smacks of bluegrass. For me, Miranda has never sounded better than she does on Masterpiece, perfection. Solid album, the girls beautifully complement each other’s voices and writing.

Is it me or does it sound like a bunch of sore-tailed cats trying to harmonize?

I mean it's not bad, but there are only so many slow, quiet songs I can take before I'm just bored. Got My Name Changed Back is the stand out on the albulm without question.

I don’t often buy entire albums, but this one has many hits. I’ve given up on radio because they don’t play female musicians enough. Great songwriting from strong women of country music!
