I have not stopped listening and watching Neil Diamond’s new release Hot August Night III. I think that Neil hit a huge Home Run because the CDs and Blu-Ray are the entire concert. I also like the Bonus feature with Neil’s crew and Band as they talk about putting the special concert together. Thank you very much Neil for a concert full of music and memories.

When I first met the love of my life, he had a 8-track playing in that Pontiac that was primered out w/gray paint. All those old songs of the1974 an hearing them now warms my heart. Thank you Neil Diamond for years of wonderful music it still warms my heart ❤️

I wasn’t sure how good this album would be but decided to take a chance, based on Neil Diamond’s original Hot August Night and as a small remembrance of my late wife and her love of Diamond. He did not disappoint and she would be pleased. Mr. Diamond’s voice is very good throughout most of the album. Any concerns I had were dispelled once hearing the album on my sound system instead of the speakers on my phone. The band/orchestra and vocal back-ups were fantastic and clearly added to Mr. Diamond’s performance. Highlights, (for me), were Morningside because of the melody and harmony displayed, and Brother Love’s Salvation Show because of its heartfelt performance and updated lyrics. The audience participation in Sweet Caroline was amazing, far exceeding what you hear in most live albums. The crowd was really into, as they should be. The orchestration in America was very good. I also appreciated Mr. Diamonds autobiographical comments throughout this album. He has every right to describe his life and events that shaped it. Finally, the closing “songs” do have importance. First, I’ve been this way before was an excellent closing choice, flowing smoothly into the final exit and band departure. A few reviewers commented on paying for the “audience exit”, (which I doubt anyone would), but more importantly, it reminds me of my exiting live performances in the past when I just did not want to say good bye, but wanted to linger to remain part of a moving experience.

It's funny how Diamond was a huge success on MOR and Easy Listening stations, but he always presents himself as some edgy Rock star.

Not sure what was going on with this live album? Seem's like he's very worn out singing these songs and doesn't seem to wanna to sing them is true! Form ....comparing these live versions to the other's performed live was not a good idea.

I love Neil and all his songs, but it sounds like a soundboard recording so there is some live soul missing from the "live" element of his shows. I have to say it's very well mixed and not lacking...just dry in the recording from the board.
