Saw them in concert in DC and they were awesome. Makes listening to the album even better. I agree with a prior review that this album harkens back to earlier DM days in a good way. Best played LOUD! Where's the Revolution, Cover Me, Scum, You Move are all great.

I think it was the best one I've ever heard overall, and I really loved it because it really, really DID show some real spirit in it. In comparison to the older albums, the sound was really good, the singing sounded new, and it all was just great. And my top favorite 3 songs from it were: Going Backwards Where's The Revolution Fail So now I am ready to hear it all at the Global Spiritual Tour Concert, so, I love the album, I love you, Depeche Mode. See you at the concert.

I've been listening to Depech Mode since I was in highschool in 1981. Everything after Ultra is not the DM I grew up with! Not even a little essense of what made them is in this album. Honestly, since Alan left they've gone downhill. It's sad that my favorite band is not worth listening to anymore.

There is no good reason for a group that has been around as long, and has survived as much internally as Depeche Mode has, to put out an album as excellent as Spirit. After a slight lull in momentum with 2013's Delta Machine, the post-modern alternative pioneers deliver with the kind of release that groups half their age struggle to create. This is proof that there is still New Life in the old Machine... Standout Tracks: "Going Backwards" "Cover Me" "Eternal" "No More" "Fail"

I was skeptical at first. Personally, the first song released on this album is not my favorite, wheres the revolution. But, listen to the rest of the album and your mind will be taken back to Music for the Masses, Violator, Songs of Faith an Devotion, and Ultra. Listen just to the music, not the words at first. The music is classic Depeche Mode. Like other people have stated it also has a bluesy rock feel to some of the songs as well. I have listened to this album at least 20 times in the car and it blows my mind away every time I hear it again. Yes, its political, but who cares. What matters here is the quality of the music and Depeche Mode, unlike some other bands, still has it! Totally enjoy listening to this album!

I only went through the samples because I did want to wait for a remixes album; however, I think they sound just as good as they ever have, and Dave is still singing strong. I enjoyed the melodies of Dave and Martin too. The types of sounds they used and the tempo choices, are great! I will soon be purchasing, Spirit.

Not a huge Depeche Mode fan just casual...I really loved this album, it is quite sparse but builds on you. One of the best of 2017 so far, listen a few times and you will get it Brent

Best song, hands down is So Much Love. Then Going Backwards. Where 's the Revolution grows on you. Then Cover Me, No More and You Move. As usual, the non Dave vocal songs stink.
