Recently Savant has been touted as the heir to Vaughan, Fitzgerald and Holliday…listening to her work on this album you can understand why. She has a great way of swinging out the melody and finding the perfect spot to touchdown on. Everything feels completely thought out and yet fresh and almost improvised. Also her voice beautifully climbs octaves up and back with apparent ease. She also has a great knack for picking interesting music to play with. There are new compositions here and some chestnuts like “Stepsisters’ Lament” from Cinderella and everything sounds equally fresh and new. Happily Savant received the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for this work (it was her second nomination). Lovers of great jazz and lovers of great music should all check out this remarkable talent.

This is my 2nd CD by this awesome vocalist. I am more and more impressed with her selections and her vocal prowess. Wow! What more can I say. I heard an interview on FreshAir with Terri Gross. For someone to be so young and to have absorbed so much of Jazz’s nuance is astounding. It warms my heart to hear young people take up this beautiful art and make it her own. Buy It Now!

She puts out a very nice airy voice that can tease. Sometimes she puts out a commanding voice singing where she should be above whispering. I would love to hear her sing some of the old classics.

I first heard Cecile on NPR’s Fresh Air show, where she was interviewed by Terry Gross. I enjoyed the interview and learning about her as a person. He music is gorgeous and beautiful. Never lose that lovely voice of yours Cecile. Cheers.

This is jazz vocals at it's best. Nice jazz stylings. This is a real jazz singer in the traditional vain. Not a just a singer saying they are singing jazz and it's not, if you know what I mean.
